Beautiful post, and so true. I haven’t seen the movie, and have no desire to really, but I’m guessing I’d feel the same. There is so much spectacular *and* everyday beauty on this Earth, there really is no need to go searching elsewhere.

Yes! I think you hit the nail on the head, at least as far as what’s been bugging me about AVATAR and all it’s hype. This place where we live is just as magical, just as mysterious, just as awesome and yet people don’t see that because it’s not a bunch of CGI.

Ah ha! It was indeed the book I thought it was. Also had a double take on the name Shepenwepet and thought it was my shemsu name.

The ritual should be awesome and a nice summer activity for us.

I am known as “Fern Green” in the House of Netjer forum. I just wanted to let you know that I am really enjoying your blog and the recent “10 Days” essays. My Parents have not been divined yet but I have felt a connection to Bast all my life; she was the first Goddess I began studying and worshipping at the age of 5 or 6 when I read about Her in a history book on cats.
